Learn more about the executives behind Romio.

Tarik Sansal

Founder & CEO

Romio was founded by Tarik Sansal, who saw the need to bring local connectivity to online services after launching and selling his second startup, OnTargetJobs.com, which generated $160 million in revenue. Sansal had previously launched InvestorPosition.com, a digital destination focused on careers in investment management and banking. Sansal has the distinction of being the very first hire by investor John Moon for his emerging markets hedge fund Moon Capital, which later became an investment arm of Oak Tree Capital. Sansal previously held positions with Yamaichi Bank, where he worked on its Asian Institutional Equities sales desk, and got his start as a Wall Street research analyst with Sharpe Capital. He is a graduate of the University of Westminster in London.

He also oversaw CBS Interactive’s glossy CNET magazine in 2015. Before joining CBS, Jeremy was a reporter for Mediaweek and newspaper publisher Knight Ridder.

He has spent the last 5 years working at Lyft in Operations and Marketing, helping grow Lyft from 7 cities to nationwide coverage. He began his tenure at Lyft on-boarding drivers; taking the process from a fully manual flow to an automated system which helped scale drivers quickly across the country. Over the last 2 years, he devised, executed, and scaled Lyft's Ambassador and Influencer Programs taking them from grassroots acquisition levers to fully integrated marketing channels. These programs unlocked Lyft at a local level acting as a growth catalyst at a cost-effective rate. He built out a sweet of branded assets, tools, and an incentive structure that allowed Lyft advocates to be the marketing voice of Lyft in their communities. The use-case of these channels have expanded to be much more than just acquisition, and are now being utilized at events, partnerships, and much more!
